About the MMA...
The MMA is your local Motorcyclist
Rights Organization (MRO). Our focus is on helping
Massachusetts Motorcyclists fight for their rights and help
ensure safe conditions on Massachusetts' roads and highways.
YOU DECIDE...
IT'S YOUR RIDE, IT'S YOUR RIGHTS,
DECIDE
TO JOIN THE MMA!
We are an organization of concerned brothers
& sisters who share a love of riding and a belief in personal
rights. People of all colors, creeds and nationalities, united
by a common goal: The Freedom to ride
in safety, dignity and without hassles. Although
our work is important, the MMA is not all work! We're all
people who have a good time at MMA
events such as our annual 3-day
Fall Round Up, Bike
Show/ Raffle, Annual
Valentine's Day Party, Annual
Christmas Party, Lacey
Packer Toys For Local Childern Run, Storm
the Statehouse Lobbying Day, Nelsons
Ride as well as monthly District/County
meetings.
Now in the new millenium with new, vigorous
and openly discriminatory assaults on motorcycling freedoms
appearing as bills on Senate & House floors everywhere,
it is critical that every motorcyclist help
support an active rights group by becoming an involved member.
In the State of Massachusetts that group
is The Massachusetts Motorcycle Association. Since 1975, we
have been representing your best interests at the State
House, Registry
of Motor Vehicles, Insurance
Commission, Governor's
Highway Safety Bureau and other goverment
agencies. We have acquired a track record for being
effective, and a reputation for being informed, credible,
capable, and influential.
We also work hard to correct misconceptions
and eliminate stereotypes attributed to motorcyclists by educating
the general community through our charitable works, such as
canned food collections, adult & children's charities,
and our highly acclaimed Lacey
Packer Memorial Toys for Local Children Run.
From 1975 through 2000, we were known as
the Modified Motorcycle Association. We changed the name to
better represent all motorcyclists here in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts. The MMA is the voice of all Massachusetts
Motorcyclists. No matter what you ride.
Our
dues are nominal, and our tasks are monumental.
As a Not-for-profit corporation, we
need your support. We're an organization of volunteers
fighting for your rights, against a much larger, more powerful,
and better-funded foe. It's Your motorcycle! Your future!
Your ride! Your MMA!
